CISA: Iron ore prices in China move up further in February

Iron ore prices in China continued their upward movement during the month of February, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

At the end of February this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 321.55 points, up 31.62 points or 10.91 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 254.39 points, up 17.7 points or 7.48 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 334.21 points, increasing by 34.25 points or 11.42 percent month on month.

For the whole of February, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 310.11 points, up 26.65 points or 9.4 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 245.52 points, increasing by 9.74 points or 4.13 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 322.28 points, rising by 29.83 points or 10.2 percent, both month on month.
