CISA: Iron ore prices in China move on declining trend in October

Iron ore prices in China continued to move on a declining trend in October, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) on November 4. 

At the end of October this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 186.34 points, down 18.02 points or 8.82 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 199.14 points, down 4.02 points or 1.98 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 182.75 points, declining by 21.95 points or 10.72 percent month on month. 

For the whole month of October, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 196.93 points, down 10.74 points or 5.17 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 201.59 points, down 3.50 points or 1.71 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 195.62 points, decreasing by 12.78 points or 6.13 percent, both month on month.
