CISA: Coking coal purchase cost in China down 13.83% in January-May

In the January-May period this year, the weighted average purchase costs in China of coking coal, metallurgical coke, domestic production iron ore fines, import iron ore fines and ferrous scrap decreased by 13.83 percent, 22.31 percent, 6.76 percent, 2.04 percent and 18.82 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In May alone, the weighted average purchasing costs of coking coal, metallurgical coke, Chinese domestic production iron ore fines (dry basis), import iron ore fines and ferrous scrap decreased by 14.93 percent, 13.39 percent, 6.11 percent, 6.76 percent and 7.89 percent month on month, respectively.
