Turkey’s Steel Exporters’ Association (CIB) has announced that in the January-November period of this year the country’s steel exports increased by 19.8 percent year on year to $19.3 million. In value, these exports totaled $14.1 billion, rising 37.3 percent on year-on-year basis. This means that the country’s steel export target for the whole of 2018 was exceeded within the first 11 months of the year.

In November, Turkey’s steel exports rose by 60.9 percent to 2.5 million mt, amounting to a value of $1.7 billion up 55.8 percent, year on year.

Evaluating the export figures, CIB chairman Adnan Aslan emphasized the success of Turkey’s steel exporters in the face of diverse challenges in the steel industry today, such as protectionist measures. The same performance is expected for the coming year as well, Aslan indicated.
