Chongqing Steel’s finished steel output down 11.3 percent in Jan-Aug

On September 6, Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel), subsidiary of Chongqing Iron and Steel (Group) Co., issued its finished steel output for August and for the first eight months of the current year.


In August, Chongqing Steel produced 401,390 mt of finished steel, decreasing by 23.5 percent year on year compared to 524,838 mt in August 2011. In the January-August period of this year, the aggregate finished steel output of Chongqing Steel totaled 3,315,122 mt, down 11.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
