On April 16 at Huangshi in the southeastern Chinese province of Hubei, the general secretary of the steel pipe section of the China Steel Structure Association (CSSA), Kong Lingming, met with senior officials of Chinese steelmakers Tianjin Pipe Group Corp, Baosteel, Panzhihua Steel and Anshan Steel to talk over the antidumping suit recently filed by the US against imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from China.

Following the meeting, Mr. Kong commented that the US antidumping suit against Chinese OTCG obviously constituted a form of trade protection, which should be met proactively. According to Mr. Kong, the Chinese enterprises in question are busy presenting all relevant information to the country's Ministry of Commerce.
