Chinese finished steel output totals 81.67 million mt in May

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, Chinese domestic output of finished steel totaled 81.67 million mt in May, up by 6.3 percent month on month, while the year-on-year growth rate declined by 1.6 percentage points as compared to April. Meanwhile, the average daily output of finished steel in China in May was 2.63 million mt, showing a slight decline from 2.7 million mt of April - there being a great number of working days in May compared to April.

In the first five months of the current year, Chinese domestic output of finished steel totaled 384.01 million mt, up by 6.3 percent year on year.
