Chinese crude steel output reaches 54.97 million mt in March

According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, domestic crude steel output in March this year reached 54.97 million mt, up 22.5 percent year on year. Average daily crude steel output in March amounted to 1,773,200 mt, down on the average February level of 1,798,500 mt. In the first quarter of the current year, China's total crude steel output came to 158.01 million mt, registering an increase of 24.5 percent year on year. In March, China's pig iron and finished steel outputs came to 52.16 million mt and 68.24 million mt respectively, with year-on-year increases of 19.6 percent and 28.1 percent.
