China's gross domestic product (GDP) indicated a year-on-year increase of 7.0 percent to RMB 29.6868 trillion ($4.8 trillion) in the first half of the current year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on July 15.
In the first half of the current year, China’s domestic primary, secondary and tertiary industries contributed RMB 2.0255 trillion ($0.33 trillion), RMB 12.9648 trillion ($2.09 trillion) and RMB 14.6965 trillion ($2.37 trillion) to the country’s GDP, rising by 3.5 percent, 6.1 percent and 8.4 percent respectively on year-on-year basis. In the second quarter of the current year, China’s GDP increased by 1.7 percent compared to the first quarter of the year.
