In September this year, China's overall value-added industrial output increased by 6.6 percent year on year, with this growth rate 0.6 percentage points higher than that recorded in August, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 19. Meanwhile, in the January-September period of the current year, China’s overall value-added industrial output increased by 6.7 percent year on year.
In September this year, of the 41 industrial sectors in China, 34 witnessed year-on-year increases in value-added industrial output. In the given month, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector indicated a year-on-year decrease of 1.4 percent in value-added industrial output. However, respective year-on-year increases of 10.6 percent, 13.7 percent, 7.2 percent and 12.3 percent were recorded in value-added industrial outputs in the general purpose machinery sector, the automotive sector, the railway, shipping, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing sector, and the electrical equipment and machinery sector.
