China’s trade surplus in July hits highest level since February 2009

China’s trade surplus for July reached $31.48 billion, indicating a month-on-month increase of $9.21 billion and constituting China’s highest trade surplus since February 2009, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

 

The value of China’s exports in July reached $175.13 billion, up 20.4 percent month on month In the first seven months of this year, the total value of China’s exports exceeded $2 trillion. China’s imports in July totaled $143.64 billion in value, a month-on-month increase of 22.9 percent.

 

In the first seven months of the current year, trade between China and Europe totaled $318.61 billion in value, up 21.1 percent year on year, China-US trade totaled $245.49 billion, up 18.5 percent, China-ASEAN trade amounted to $202.09 billion in value, increasing by 25.5 percent, while China-Japan trade amounted to $191.29 billion, up 18.3 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
