China’s top 10 mills to produce 60 percent of national steel output by 2015

On July 14, Jia Yinsong, an official at China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated that China's top 10 steelmakers would produce 60 percent of domestic steel output by 2015.
 
Regarding the 2011-15 period, Mr. Jia said, "The elimination of backward production capacity should be combined with mergers and acquisitions," adding that China will completely eliminate blast furnaces of 400 cubic meter capacity and below, as well as converter furnaces of 30 mt and below.
