China’s steel imports down 40.8% in January

China's steel imports fell 40.8% year-on-year to 1.92 million tons in January 2005, based on data released by China's General Customs Administration. On the other hand, China's iron ore imports rose 61.8% year-on-year to 20.86 million tons in January.
