China’s steel exports in November

According to the latest statistics, China exported 1.56 million metric tons of steel products in November 2005. With this figure, total quantity through January-November 2005 reached 18.7 million metric tons, up 55.01 percent year on year. Meanwhile the value of exports reached $12.01 billion, up 70.82 percent year on year. Among main exported items, 487,715 metric tons of the exports in November were bars and rods. With this figure, the total quantity of bar and rod exports in the first eleven months reached 5.5 million metric tons, up 40.22 percent year on year. The value of bar and rod exports through the first eleven months reached $2.5 billion, up 48.63 percent year on year. The quantity of angles and profiles exported in November was 89,635 metric tons. Total quantity through January-November reached 760,000 metric tons, up 71.42 percent year on year, while their value reached $376 million, up 70 percent. 558,567 metric tons of the exports in November were flat products. Total flat product exports in the first eleven months reached 7.83 million metric tons, up 95.4 percent while their value increased 85.6 percent to $4.9 billion. 293,339 metric tons of pipes were exported in November and 3.1650 million metric tons through January-November with $2.65 billion value. The quantity was up 71 percent year on year while the value was up 102.7 percent.
