China’s steel bar imports down 6.9 percent in January-April

In the January-April period this year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and steel pipes/hollow profiles amounted to 320,000 mt, 100,000 mt, 3.3 million mt and 110,000 mt, down 6.9 percent, 23.8 percent, 13.6 percent and 14.9 percent year on year, respectively, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in the January-April period this year China imported 3.896 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 13.4 percent year on year.
