China’s shipbuilding output up 7.1 percent in 2015

In 2015, aggregate shipbuilding output in China amounted to 41.84 million deadweight tons (dwt), up 7.1 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of the National ShipbuildingIndustry (CANSI).

In the given year, China’s new ship orders amounted to 31.26 million dwt, decreasing by 47.9 percent year on year. As of the end of December last year, ship orders on the books of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises totaled 123.04 million dwt, down 12.3 percent year on year.
