China’s rebar exports down 92 percent in August

China's rebar exports in August stood at 9,200 mt, down 102,500 mt or 91.79 percent year on year, totaling $6 million in value, down $102 million or 94.39 percent compared with the same month last year. The average export price was $662.34/mt. Total rebar exports in the January-August period reached 203,000 mt, down 678,700 mt or 76.97 percent, amounting to $126 million in value, down $550 million or 81.34 percent year on year.

 

Meanwhile, rebar imports of the country in August stood at 1,900 mt, up 500 mt or 37.73 percent year on year, totaling $1.41 million in value, up $140,000 or 10.93 percent compared with the same month last year. The average import price was $760.71/mt. Total January-August rebar imports reached 19,000 mt, down 900 mt or 4.35 percent, amounting to a total value of $14 million, up $3 million or 26.36 percent year on year.
