China's PPI down 5.9 percent in October

In October this year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 5.9 percent year on year and was down 0.4 percent month on month, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on November 10. Meanwhile, in October Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 6.9 percent year on year and decreased by 0.6 percent compared to September.

As for the average price index in the January-October period of the current year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 5.1 percent year on year, while Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 6.0 percent year on year.

In October, the PPI for capital goods decreased by 7.6 percent year on year. Specifically, in October this year the PPI for the domestic raw material industry was down 10.8 percent, while the index for the processing industry declined by 4.9 percent, both year on year.
