China’s overall rail freight volume down 7.3 percent in Jan-Jul

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in July this year the overall freight volume transported on China’s railways amounted to 263 million mt, down 5.8 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on Chinese railways totaled 184.9 billion mt-km, decreasing by 3.5 percent year on year.

In the January-July period of the current year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s railways amounted to 1.83 billion mt, down 7.3 percent, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s railways totaled 1.29 trillion mt-km, declining by 6.9 percent, both year on year.
