China’s new local currency loans in May total RMB 551.6 billion

Chinese banks lent RMB 551.6 billion in local currency loans in May this year, up 17.1 percent year on year, missing market predictions for RMB 610 billion, the People's Bank of China stated
on June 13.

In addition, at the end of May this year, China's broad money supply (M2) was RMB 76.34 trillion, up 15.1 percent year on year.

China's narrow money supply (M1) at the end of the given month was RMB 26.93 trillion, up 12.7 percent year on year.
