In the January-May period this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 423.916 million mt, down 5.2 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on June 10.
In the first five months of the year, China imported 4.878 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 13.4 percent year on year.
In May alone, China imported 83.753 million mt of iron ore and iron ore concentrate, down 11.0 percent year on year, while it imported 0.982 million mt of finished steel, declining by 13.1 percent year on year.
