China's industrial value-added output up 8.9 percent in August

In August this year, the industrial value-added output of large and medium-sized enterprises in China indicated an increase of 8.9 percent year on year and was up 0.69 percent compared to July, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, the aggregate industrial value-added output of large and medium-sized enterprises in China increased by 10.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

In August this year, 291 out of 471 industrial products witnessed year-on-year increases in value-added output. Specifically, in the given month, total production of finished steel in China amounted to 78.81 million mt, up 1.4 percent year on year. Meanwhile, output of 10 nonferrous metals totaled 3.24 million mt, indicating a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent. Also in August, motor vehicles output increased by 8.2 percent year on year to 1.583 million units, including 893,000 cars, up 10.8 percent on year-on-year basis.
