On November 12, the authorities in the Chinese province of Hebei demolished 20 blast furnaces and three converters in Qinghuangdao, Tangshan, Baoding, Xingtai and Handan in a coordinated operation.

Building on previous work carried out to eliminate dated steel producing capacities in the province, the Hebei government said that the latest operation was aimed at accelerating the elimination of dated capacities, optimizing the industrial structure and facilitating the sustainable, healthy and stable development of the local steel industry.
