According to a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in November this year China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 53.67 million mt, 63.32 million mt and 93.96 million mt, down 0.8 percent, decreasing by 1.6 percent and rising by 2.0 percent year on year, respectively, based on the data issued by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In addition, in November this year China’s average aggregate daily crude steel output amounted to 2.1107 million mt, down 22,400 mt or 1.1 percent month on month.
In the January-November period of this year, China’s crude steel output amounted to 738 million mt, down 2.2 percent year on year, while China’s apparent consumption of crude steel totaled 645 million mt, decreasing by 5.4 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the composite steel price index (CSPI) in China has declined for 15 consecutive months. According to the CISA’s report, it is thought that China’s finished steel prices will likely fluctuate within a limited range in the coming period.
