In April, China's output of crude steel reached 55.4 million mt, an all-time monthly record, up by 11.78 million mt or 27 percent year on year, with average daily output amounting to 1.85 million mt, up 73,600 mt or 4.15 percent compared with March. Meanwhile, total output from January to April was 213.865 million mt, increasing by 43.319 million mt or 25.4 percent year on year.
In April, China's newly-added supply of crude steel was 52.593 million mt, up 8.759 million mt or 19.98 percent year on year. Total newly-added supply of crude steel from January to April was 206.45 million mt, up 37.62 million mt or 22.28 percent year on year.
The export volume of crude steel in April accounted for 7.77 percent of the total output in the month in question, while the export volume of crude steel from January to April accounted for 6.08 percent of total output for this period.
China's pig iron output in April reached 51.62 million mt, up 9.65 million mt or 23 percent year on year, while total output for the first four months was 202.22 million mt, up 36.74 million mt or 22 percent year on year.
Finished steel output in April reached 69.10 million mt, up 16.55 million mt or 32 percent year on year, while total output of finished steel from January to April was 254.43 million mt, up 57.65 million mt or 29 percent year on year.
