According to the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics, in January this year China's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 4.9 percent year on year and by 1.0 percent month on month. Meanwhile, China's producer price index (PPI) in January climbed up by 0.9 percent as compared with December 2010 and rose by 6.6 percent in comparison to the same month in 2010.
During the month under review, the purchasing prices of industrial input materials in China increased on average by 1.2 percent month on month and by 9.7 percent year on year. At the same time, the ex-mill prices of production materials in January went up by 1.0 percent compared with the previous month and by 7.5 percent compared with the same month of last year.
