In August this year, China’s consumer price index (CPI) indicated a year-on-year increase of 2.3 percent, up 0.2 percentage points compared to the year-on-year growth rate recorded in July, according to the data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In the first eight months of the year, China’s consumer price index (CPI) indicated a year-on-year increase of 2.0 percent.
Meanwhile, China’s consumer price index (CPI) recorded a month-on-month decrease of 0.7 percent in August.
