According to the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics, the country's consumer price index (CPI) jumped by 6.9 percent year on year in November. Food prices ballooned by 18.2 percent compared with the same period last year, while non-food prices rose by 1.4 percent. Compared with October, China's CPI increased 0.4 percent in November.
China's CPI hit 6.5 percent in August, breaking the barrier of six percent, and then slightly declined to 6.2 percent in September. In October, the figure again reached 6.5 percent. In the figure for November, the country's CPI has jumped to its highest monthly level for over the past six years - a clear indication of the growing inflation pressure in China.
From January to November, the CPI rose by 4.6 percent year on year.
