China's CPI increases 1.9% in January

SteelOrbis Shanghai According to the National Statistics Bureau, China's consumer price index (CPI) increased 1.9 percent in January. China's January growth rate of CPI is lower than the government's target stipulated for 2006, which is 3 percent. However, it's still higher compared to 1.6 percent in December 2005, 1.3 percent in the November and 1.2 percent in October. China's CPI growth rate was 0.9 percent in September 2005, which is the lowest level in 25 months. National Statistics Bureau will acknowledge the details of product prices after adjusting according to the Chinese calendar.
