China’s banking regulators clarify rumors on real estate loan restrictions

The China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) has lately commented on rumors that the Chinese government is about to restrict loans for the real estate sector.
 
CBRC director Liao Minyuan said the Chinese government would just restrict loans for real estate companies which are keeping land idle, which are delaying sales of houses in order to obtain higher prices later, and which are generally involved in speculation.
