On January 23,
China's National Bureau of Statistics announced the final verified figures for the country's GDP for 2005.
After final verification,
China's GDP for 2005 totaled RMB 18.3868 trillion ($2.3664 trillion) at current prices, i.e., RMB 78.3 billion ($10.1 billion) more than in the preliminary verification - up 10.4 percent year on year. This growth is up 0.2 of a percentage point compared with the preliminary verification. Of the final verified total, the primary sector accounted for RMB 2.307 trillion ($296.9 billion), up 5.2 percent; while figure for the secondary sector reached RMB 8.7365 trillion ($1.1244 trillion), up 11.7 percent, and also RMB 31.8 billion ($4.1 billion) higher than in the preliminary verification. Finally, the tertiary industry accounted for RMB 7.3433 trillion ($945.1 billion), RMB 46.5 billion ($6 billion), up 10.5 percent. Following the calculations based on the final verification, the share of the primary sector in the 2005 GDP was 12.5 percent, the share of the secondary sector was 47.5 percent, while the tertiary sector accounted for 40 percent.
