ChinaCoal to cut 17.2 million mt of coal capacity in 2017

Beijing-based state-owned coal enterprise China National Coal Group Corp. (ChinaCoal) has announced that it has plans to eliminate 17.2 million mt of coal production capacity in 2017 and relocate nearly 9,300 workers affected by the coal capacity reduction process, in line with the Chinese government’s national policy for 2017.

ChinaCoal previously announced that it achieved its coal capacity reduction target for 2016 by eliminating 6.45 million mt of coal capacity.
