China verbally confirms new ferroalloy export tariffs

China's Ministry of Commerce has verbally confirmed to SteelOrbis that the export tariff for ferrosilicon has been increased to 25 percent while that for silicomanganese has been raised to 20 percent, effective from January 01, 2008. However, no official announcement has yet been released.

Accordingly, the Chinese export tariffs on ferroalloys effective from January 1, 2008 are as follows:
