China to restrict exports of products entailing high energy consumption

China's Minister of Finance Xie Xu has stated that in 2011 China will impose export taxes with the aim of optimizing the mix of exported products, favoring exports of mechanical and electrical products and special products. At the same time, the minister said China would adapt its tax policy to restrict exports of goods which entail high levels of energy consumption and pollution. At the same time, China will increase imports of energy, raw materials, key components and advanced technologies, he said.
