China Steel Corporation sales boost in the first quarter

Taiwan's largest steel maker, China Steel Corporation (CSC) reported its net profit at NTD 9.13 billion which accounts for NTD 1 per share. In view of the above results, the net profit increased more than six times, compared with the same period of last year. Such situation is secured by the higher steel prices. For the same period of last year, CSC announced a net profit of NTD 1.41 billion, or NTD 0.15 per share, according to a company statement filed with the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The sales revenues amount to NTD 30.43 billion, up by almost 45% from NTD 21.08 billion recorded in 2002.
