China Railway Corporation invites bids for railway wagon and locomotive tender

Chinese state-owned railway company China Railway Corporation (CRC) has announced that on September 5 it invited bids in a tender to supply 4,790 railway wagon and locomotive units, with the overall tender worth RMB 6.771 billion ($0.99 billion). CRC stated that, with the surge in railway freight volumes due to China’s policy of stimulating a shift from road transportation to rail transportation, the tender for the railway wagons and locomotive bids has started to attract interest.
