China claims 69% of new shipbuilding orders in global market in April

In April this year, China attracted 69 percent of new shipbuilding orders (2.51 million CGT) globally, ranking firsst in the global market, while South Korea claimed a 17 percent share (620,000 CGT), ranking second, according to the data issued by Clarksons, the world’s leading provider of integrated shipping services.

In April, 3.64 million CGT of new shipbuilding orders were transacted in the global market, down 56.0 percent year on year, while up 82 percent month on month.
