China Baowu Group issues capacity transfer details

Major Chinese steelmaker China Baowu Group has issued capacity transfer details relating to 2.14 million mt of iron-smelting capacity and 3.23 million mt of steelmaking capacity. Three of the group’s companies, namely, Shanghai-based Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd, and Shanghai-based Baoshan Stainless Steel Co., Ltd, will transfer 1.5 million mt of iron-smelting capacity, 0.64 million mt of iron-smelting capacity and 1.07 million mt of steelmaking capacity, and 2.16 million mt of iron-smelting capacity, respectively. Fujian Province-based Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel Co., Ltd will accordingly acquire 2.14 million mt of iron-smelting capacity and 3.23 million mt of steelmaking capacity.
