As stated by Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group (Shougang), the long steel products of its Shanxi Province-based subsidiary Changzhi Iron and Steel Co. (Changzhi Steel) will be sold in the Beijing market next year with Shougang's trademark.

Construction of Changzhi Steel's one million mt capacity steel bar production line project, which cost RMB 430 million ($67.6 million), was completed in June this year. Meanwhile, Changzhi Steel has started construction of a 1.1 million mt capacity wire rod project.

With Shougang's relocation to Caofeidian, the construction steel products produced by the company disappeared from the Beijing market. In 2009, Shougang restructured Changzhi Steel in order to maintain construction steel production at least at one plant.
