Capacity replacement details issued for new converters in Hebei

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of China’s Hebei Province has issued the capacity replacement details relating to one new 110 mt converter and one new 100 mt converter, both to be built by Hebei New Wu’an Iron and Steel Group Xinhui Metallurgy Co., Ltd. in Hebei Province, which represent a total of 1.575 million mt of steelmaking capacity. The construction of the converters will start in 2019 and will be put into operation by the end of 2020.

The steelmaking capacity to be eliminated includes two 55 mt converters, representing 1.61 million mt of steelmaking capacity, belonging to Xinhui Metallurgy Co., Ltd. in Handan, Hebei.
