The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced its determination in the expiry review concerning the dumping of flat hot rolled carbon and alloy steel sheet and strip, originating in or exported from Brazil, China, Taiwan, India and Ukraine, and concerning the subsidizing of such products exported from India.

The CBSA has determined that the expiry of the existing duties is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods exported from Brazil, China and Ukraine. It has also determined that the expiry of the existing duties is unlikely to result in the continuation of dumping of such goods exported from Taiwan and India, and is likely to result in the continuation of subsidizing of such goods exported from India.

The investigation was initiated by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) on December 8, 2015.

The CBSA stated that the CITT will issue its determinations on whether the continued or resumed dumping and subsidizing are likely to result in injury no later than August 14 this year.
