CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 3.0 percent in January-May

In May this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.954 million units and 1.889 million units, increasing by 11.8 percent and 7.9 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-May period of the current year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 9.923 million units and 9.901 million units, rising by 3.0 percent and 5.1 percent, year on year.

As for commercial vehicles, the output and sales volumes in May amounted to 390,000 units and 398,000 units, increasing by 18.3 percent and 18.6 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-May period of the current year, output and sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 1.845 million units and 1.892 million units, rising by 8.9 percent and 9.1 percent year on year, respectively.
