CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 2.6 percent in January-July

In July this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.725 million units and 1.59 million units, decreasing by 1.9 percent and 5.3 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-July period of the current year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 13.579 million units and 13.365 million units, rising by 2.6 percent and 3.4 percent year on year, respectively.

As for commercial vehicles, the output and sales volumes in July amounted to 318,000 units and 300,000 units, increasing by 6.7 percent and 3.3 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-July period of the current year, output and sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 2.521 million units and 2.59 million units, rising by 9.0 percent and 9.7 percent year on year, respectively.
