Data released by the Brazilian Steel Institute (IBS) reveal that the country's crude steel
production rose 6.5 percent year on year in September due to the strong domestic demand.
The IBS said that Brazilian crude steel
production amounted to 2.76 million metric tons during the period in question.
In the first nine months of the year,
Brazil's crude steel
production fell 3.7 percent year on year to 22.7 million metric tons.
