Brazilian flat-rolled steel inventories down on the year

Sindisider, the Brazilian steel distributors' association, announced Wednesday that Brazilian flat-rolled steel inventories reached 1.00 million metric tons at the end of December 2011, a 16.8 percent decrease from December 2010 and a 0.7 percent decrease from November 2011. According to Sindisider, the lowered steel inventories was due to a reduction of steel imports, which declined by a stunning 47.5 percent from 2010's numbers.
