Brazilian distributors’ steel sales up two percent in Jan-Aug

Brazil's steel distributors association, Inda, has disclosed that its members' flat steel sales fell 2.1 percent year on year to around 379,000 mt in August, increasing by 10.8 percent compared to July. In the January-August period of the current year, steel sales of Brazilian distributors rose by two percent on year-on-year basis.

Distributors' steel stocks stood at around 962,300 mt at the end of August, falling 13 percent from a year earlier and down slightly by 0.1 percent compared to the end of July this year.

Meanwhile, Inda's distributors purchased around 377,500 mt of steel from steel producers in August, an increase of 19 percent from a year earlier and up 13.9 percent month on month.
