Brazilian distributors’ steel sales rise in October

Brazil's steel distributors association, Inda, has disclosed that its members' steel sales rose 8.1 percent year on year to 401,200 mt in October, increasing by 13.4 percent compared to September. In the January-October period of the current year, steel sales of Brazilian distributors rose by 1.4 percent on year-on-year basis to 3.66 million mt.

Distributors' steel stocks stood at around 936,900 mt at the end of October, falling eight percent from a year earlier and down slightly by 1.3 percent compared to the end of September this year.

Meanwhile, Inda's distributors purchased around 388,800 mt of steel from steel producers in October, an increase of 13.8 percent from a year earlier and up 14.1 percent month on month. In the January-October period of the current year, Brazilian distributors' purchase volumes were 5.1 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year, totaling 3.6 million mt.
