A Brazilian trade commerce analyst will be sent to Cherepovets, Russia, and Lugano, Switzerland, to investigate exports of HRC from those two countries.

According to a notice from Brazil’s industry, foreign trade and services ministry, a trade analyst will be sent to both cities to investigate possible “dumping practices” by JSC Severstal and Severstal Export into their exports of HRC to Brazil.

The foreign trade analyst should perform those investigations between Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, 2017.

In July of last year, Brazil commenced an anti-dumping (AD) investigation over the Chinese and Russian imports of HRC into the Brazilian market, following a request from local producers ArcelorMittal Brasil, Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) and Gerdau.
