Brazil's national statistics agency reported Wednesday that the country's industrial output fell by a slight 0.2 percent in November from October.

The report said that while production in November was down slightly from the previous month, it recorded the first year-on-year increase since the start of the recession, rising 5.1 percent from the year-ago month.

Production of capital goods, a measure of future investment, rose 6.1 percent from October, which was its largest rise since January 2009.
