Basic metal prices in Brazil up slightly in November

Brazil's national statistics agency IBGE has announced that the producer price index (PPI) for Brazilian manufacturing in November last year increased 0.25 percent from October and rose 6.6 percent from November 2011.

In the country's basic metal sector, the PPI increased 0.15 percent in November over October and was up 0.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while in Brazilian manufacture of metal products except machinery and equipment the price index rose 0.3 percent month on month and increased by 5.1 percent compared to November 2011.
